WVBR is committed to supporting and promoting the prominent local music scene in Ithaca and all around Central New York. We are the only radio station in Ithaca to play music from local artists in our regular music rotation during the week. Our weekend specialty programming also heavily promotes local artists from a wide range of genres and backgrounds.

Plus, every Tuesday afternoon at 6:00, we bring you Tuesdays With The Band, each week featuring a live interview with a local act and, more often than not, a live performance in the studio. A selection of local music starts at 6, and Dan Cole comes on with the band at 6:15.

For years, Michael Hunter has been a true renaissance man of the Ithaca music scene. Since graduating from Cornell with a music degree, Michael has been in countless bands, playing countless roles, all for love of music. Recently, he has drummed for Armageddon Monks and sang for TryFailRepeat. He is now drumming for the Gunpoets and looking to start his acoustic act up again. No stranger to Tuesdays with the Band, Mike will join Dan Cole in the studio ONE HOUR EARLY THIS WEEK, at 5:15, for an assortment of live acoustic music plus all the updates on everything Mike is doing these days.
